AIRPORT – MIrissa

  • Upon Arrival, meet & greet by Travelwind Holiday Sri Lanka representative at Bandaranaike International Airport. Introduction to chauffeur guide at arrival lounge and there after transfer to Mirissa
    Travel Duration: approx.2 ½ Hrs to reach the resort.

  • Check in at the hotel and afternoon relax at the hotel pool.

  • Dinner & Overnight at the hotel Amaloh Boutique Luxury Hotel, Galle.

MIRISSA – Whale watching – GALLE CITY TOUR

  • You will be picked from the hotel at 0545Hrs to Mirissa Harbour.
  • Journey takes approx 20 minutes to the Harbour and commence the blue whale & Dolphin watching excursion. You will be provided with snacks, Tea & coffee in the boat.
  • In the mean time hotel also provide you the packet of breakfast for take away.

  • You will finish the excursion by 1130Hrs and drive to Galle City.

  • Commence a tour of Galle.

  • Galle- Sri Lanka’s most historically interesting town is Galle. It was a major port until about 100 years, but today still handles shipping and sailing boats in the natural harbor. Stroll around the lighthouse and harbor or visit the old town where you can see the traditional lace makers and wood carvers and purchase some the finest souvenirs.

  • Evening visit to Weherahena Buddhist temple, which is based in Matara.
    This is a Buddist temple where you find lots of local pilgrims visit in groups.
    Please be properly dressed and have a camera with lots of storage capacity. This temple has a tunnel down the main statue with thousands of artwork (not very ancient but fairly old) Once you finished the walk you will come to the elevated surface where you have steps to climb by the side of the huge Buddha statue, it's really amazing. you really feel the vibration of the temple. Once you reach the top you get an aerial view of the surroundings. It's GREEN GREEN and GREEN. you will appreciate the unspoilt greenery.Please be advised no hats permitted and you can walk to the top it's not difficult. All are permitted to visit if you have some time. visit the museum (collection of gifts came to the temple) on the ground level of the temple.

  • By late afternoon check in at the hotel and relax.

MIRISSA – YAL - YALA NATIONAL PARK

  • After breakfast drive to Yala.
  • Journey takes approx 3Hrs to reach Yala.
  • Afternoon commence a Jeep safari at Yala National Park.
  • Yala National Park- the Yala National Park covers 126,786 hectares Including the Strict Natural Reserve (Block II). The most familiar is Block I (14,101 hectares) and this block was established in 1938. Yala is famous for its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals. More than 130 bird species are recorded which includes the resident and winter visitors
  • .Evening return back to the hotel.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel Jetwing Yala.

MORNING BIG GAME SAFARI – UDAWALAWE

  • Another morning Safari at Yala national by Jeep. Starts at 0545Hrs.
  • Once again please make arrangement to pick the breakfast from the hotel.
  • Once you complete the safari return to the hotel.
  • After refresh check out from the hotel and drive to Udawalawe. Journey takes approx 2Hrs to reach to the Hotel.
  • Check in at the hotel and afternoon commence a Jeep safari at Udawalawe National. Uda Walawe National Park - with an area of 30,821 hectares covers the catchment area of Uda Walawe reservoir. With boundaries running into Ratnapura and Monaragala districts at the SouthEastern Part of Sri Lanka. Haputale and Kaltota mountain ranges, seen from the park give a picturesque view. It provides a home for displaced animals from Walawe Development Project. Rich in elephant population the park is having an estimated 500 or more elephants. They roam about in herds of 50-100 at times. The park is known to be a good breeding ground, for Baby elephants, guarded by their elders are seen round the year. To see elephants in their natural habitat visitors are advised to travel in Jungle Green vehicles and similar coloured clothes. Elephants quickly spot (White and bright colours).
  • After completion return back to the hotel and dinner& overnight stay at the hotel Grand Udawalawe Hotel, Udawalawe.


UDAWALAWE – RAIN FOREST

  • Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Sinharaja Rain forest.

  • En route visit to Udawalawe Elephant transit camp and witness the Elephants feeding.

  • Udawalawe Elephant Transit Camp - If you're in Sri Lanka this is the elephant "orphanage" to visit - it's doing a great job and putting its orphaned elephants back into the wild. If you see a radio collared elephant in the nearby National Park - it's come from here. You stand on a raised platform and view the elephants coming into a large area where the youngsters are fed milk. Then they wander closer to you. Don't expect to be too close - this place is not a zoo. There is a good education area.

  • After completion take a soothing drive to Sinharaja Rain Forest and check in at the Eco Lodge Resort.

  • Evening enjoy the nature and sounds of birds.
  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the Rain Forest Eco Lodges, Sinharaja.

SINHARAJA RAINFOREST TREKKING

  • Morning by 0730Hrs you can start the trekking with naturalist at Rain forest. We advise to take enough bottled water and good camera to capture the Birds and plants inside the forest.

  • Sinharaja Rain Forest Reserve - Sinharaja is the only ”World Heritage Site” Rain Forest in Sri Lanka, with a very high rate of bio-diversity. The vegetation is tropical wet evergreen forest and the area under the reserve is 11,187 hectares.
    Out of the 331 woody trees and lianas identified 192 (60%) are endemic at Sinharaja.
    Regarding Fauna 141 bird species recorded here and 24 are endemic (27 for the entire country), Butterflies 65 species (1 endemic), Fishes 10 (07 endemic), Amphibians 19 (08 endemic), Reptiles & Snakes 29 (14 endemic), and Mammals 40 (07 endemic).
    Sinharaja is the only relatively undisturbed rain forest of any considerable size and many of the plants are very rare and are represented by only one individual of its kind in a large area.

  • By lunch time return back to the hotel and afternoon enjoy being at the hotel and nature.

  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the Rain Forest Eco Lodges, Sinharaja.

RAINFOREST – BENTOTA

  • Breakfast at the hotel and take a easy drive to Bentota. Journey takes approx 4Hrs 30 minutes to reach to the hotel, with few stops at en route.

  • Check in at the hotel and afternoon relax and enjoy the southern beach of Sri Lanka.

  • Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel Heritance Ahungalla.

FULL DAY AT LEISURE

  • Breakfast at the hotel and full day relax and enjoy the surrounds and you can do a bird watching tour in the morning.
